Dubai has launched a new initiative requiring AI users to place watermarks on their content, aiming to foster more transparent content consumption and distinguish between AI and human-created material.
The "Human-Machine Collaboration Classification System" utilises watermarks to indicate the level of AI involvement in content creation. This system features five levels, ranging from "All Human" to "All Machine," along with nine functional tags that clarify which part of the process involves AI.
Dubai's Crown Prince, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, announced the project and directed its implementation across all sectors, from schools to courts.
The initiative not only aims to encourage transparency but also to remove the stigma associated with AI use in all contexts.
