His Majesty King Hamad yesterday issued a decree restructuring Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) board of directors.
The Labour Minister will be the chairman and members will include: Sahar Al Mannai, Fatima Ismail, Adnan Ishaq, Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Doseri, Mohammed Al Kooheji, Sonia Janahi, Yousif Ahmed, and Alaa Abdulrahman. The term of the board members will be four years, renewable.
The Prime Minister and the Labour Minister will implement the provisions of this decree, which will come into effect on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
The King issued a Decree-Law approving the Unified Law on International Land Transport among GCC states. It defined the “competent authority” as the government body designated by decree and established the exchange rate of one Bahraini dinar as equivalent to 10 Saudi riyals for applying the Decree-Law.
His Majesty issued another Decree-Law amending certain provisions of Law (74) of 2006 concerning the care, rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities.
The King also issued a Decree-Law approving the Production Sharing Agreement for the Jaubah and Pre-Tawil Gas Assets in the Bahrain Field.
His Majesty issued another Decree-Law amending certain provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law, enabling the Public Prosecution to request that the competent court issue criminal orders on certain misdemeanours without a full investigation or hearing, based on collected evidence or other proof.
His Majesty also issued a Decree-Law amending certain provisions of the Penal Code, establishing clear penalties for causing death or injury by negligence.
Imprisonment ranges from two to 10 years and fines from BD2,000 to BD10,000, with higher penalties applied when the offence results from professional or occupational negligence, intoxication, failure to assist the victim when able, permanent disability, or multiple casualties.
