FOOTBALL – Bahrain's senior men’s football national team had a recovery day yesterday as part of their ongoing training gathering in the kingdom.
The session was held at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain. The players took part in outdoor exercises as well as cryotherapy.
Their programme followed a scrimmage held on Thursday night involving all the players on their 30-member squad.
They were separated into two teams and competed over a full match’s duration at the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) pitches in Riffa.
In attendance during yesterday’s recovery programme were BFA board member Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa and other officials.
The nationals are scheduled to continue their local training gathering today and are set to play another scrimmage on Monday.
The Bahrainis are preparing for their major upcoming competitions, among which are the 27th Gulf Cup – which they will be entering as defending champions – scheduled for later this year, and the AFC Asian Cup 2027, set for January.
