Government Hospitals chief executive officer Dr Mariam Al Jalahma yesterday inaugurated the Short-Stay Surgery Unit at the Dermatology Department of Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The new unit is designed to provide services for patients requiring minor surgical and therapeutic procedures that do not necessitate overnight admission, thereby improving patient experience and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
Dr Al Jalahma emphasised that the opening of the unit is part of Government Hospitals’ strategy to continue developing specialised services and expanding the scope of patient care, in line with national efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of the healthcare system.
“The unit represents an important addition to the healthcare system, providing an integrated environment that enables physicians to perform minor procedures efficiently, ensuring patient comfort and safety,” she noted.
Government Hospitals Dermatology Department head Dr Aysha Al Mousa said that the new unit will allow the department to deliver faster and more efficient diagnostic and treatment services.
