Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired a meeting with governors, attended by the General Co-ordinator of the Governorates.
The minister praised the role of governorates in maintaining communication with citizens and addressing issues that may affect security or social cohesion. He highlighted their efforts in supporting youth through activities and programmes that reinforce national traditions, values and belonging while safeguarding national achievements. He also underlined the importance of utilising religious and social occasions to promote Islamic values and positive community practices.
General Shaikh Rashid underlined the significance of communication with citizens and local majalis, describing them as part of Bahrain’s national and cultural heritage, and as forums that nurture values and identity for younger generations. He also emphasised the role of governorates in promoting security awareness, supporting projects that utilise modern technologies, and strengthening community partnership mechanisms to ensure efficient delivery of services.
The meeting also reviewed issues and projects currently under implementation in the governorates.
