Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa met Works Minister Ibrahim Al Hawaj, who introduced the Jasra Interchange Project team from the ministry’s engineering staff.
Shaikh Khalid congratulated the team on this achievement, which adds to the series of distinguished road projects in the Bahrain, expressing his appreciation for their efforts that contributed to tangible improvements in traffic capacity, flow, and the efficiency of the surrounding road network.
Shaikh Khalid emphasised that the progress achieved in Bahrain’s road projects reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance the kingdom’s infrastructure through a safe and efficient road network that meets both current and future development needs.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that road projects represent an important pillar supporting productive and service sectors, positively reflecting on the smooth flow of traffic, reducing travel times, attracting investments, and enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens and residents alike.
Shaikh Khalid highlighted that the achievements in the field of road projects and other development initiatives are the product of dedication, teamwork, and the Team Bahrain spirit, which translates strategic plans into tangible realities through discipline, precision, efficiency, and a strong sense of national responsibility.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that this integrated approach among various entities reflects an institutional framework based on proactive planning and close co-operation, ensuring that projects are completed within set timelines and according to quality and safety standards, thereby supporting the kingdom’s sustainable development goals.
During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid was briefed on latest updates on key road projects, including the expansion of Wali Al Ahd Highway, the expansion of King Faisal Highway, the Fourth Bridge Project, Phase Three of the Southern Ring Road, and the flyover leading to Road 105 connected to the Muharraq Ring Road.
The Deputy Prime Minister directed the Works Ministry to give special attention to these projects due to their strategic importance in developing and improving the road network’s efficiency, noting the need to maintain a consistent work pace that meets the kingdom’s urban and economic growth needs and ensures infrastructure sustainability.
Mr Al Hawaj expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for his recognition of the national efforts in implementing Bahrain’s road network projects.
Mr Al Hawaj also commended the Deputy Prime Minister’s continuous support and close supervision, through his chairmanship of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, for the ministry’s projects in the fields of roads, sanitation, and building maintenance.
He emphasised that such support serves as a strong motivation to continue working as one team to fulfil the visions and directives of His Majesty and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, while meeting citizens’ aspirations for a modern and sustainable infrastructure.
