Saudi Arabia has deported 17,368 individuals arrested between April 16 and April 22 during a nationwide crackdown on residency, labour, and border security violations, the Saudi Interior Ministry has announced.
The deportations are part of an extensive campaign organised by security agencies and other government bodies to detain and repatriate violators.
Authorities also stated that a further 20,000 individuals have been referred to their respective diplomatic missions to secure travel documents. According to officials, more than 33,000 expatriates remain subject to legal proceedings as part of the ongoing campaign.
