Bahrain is set to host for the first time today the award ceremony of the Unesco-King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education 2025.
This is the first time the ceremony will be held outside the organisation’s headquarters in Paris, marking the 20th anniversary of the prize.
This year’s edition is themed ‘Preparing Learners and Educators for the Ethical and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence’.
Exceptionally, four winners will be honoured, each receiving a cash prize, a certificate of recognition and an international acknowledgement.
The celebration will also feature panel discussions and an exhibition showcasing the winning projects and the prize’s achievements over the past two decades, highlighting its impact in shaping inclusive, innovative, and future-ready education worldwide.
Since its inception in 2005, the prize has recognised 34 innovative projects from 21 countries.
