A man and a woman, aged 31 and 33, described by the authorities of being of Arab nationality, have been arrested for allegedly stealing gold jewellery and replacing it with fake items from a gold shop in Manama.
The Interior Ministry announced that the Capital Governorate Police Directorate had carried out an investigation into the allegations and swooped on the suspects.
Legal proceedings were undertaken and the case referred to the Public Prosecution.
