FOOTBALL – SAMI Al Hussaini fired in the winning goal on the stroke of full-time in Bahrain Club’s 1-0 triumph over A’ali last night in match week six of the 2025-26 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Al Hussaini’s heroics earned Bahrain Club their first win of the season while also claiming their first points on the table. They handed A’ali their third loss in six outings, as they stayed on five markers.
In last night’s other match, Al Ahli held Malkiya to a 1-1 stalemate. Baqer Al Asfoor put Ahli in front with a goal in the 60th minute, but Mohamed Salem equalised for Malkiya nine minutes later.
The two sides thus came away with a share of the points, with Ahli improving to eight and Malkiya going to 12 points to rise to the top of the standings.
League action continues tonight and tomorrow. Al Shabab and Al Najma face off today afternoon at 4.25pm followed by Budaiya going up against Hidd at 7pm. Tomorrow, Al Khaldiya take on Riffa at 7pm.
Muharraq and Sitra are idle this week, with their match being postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date.
