There can be no stability in the region without a ‘just and lasting resolution’ to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, said a top Bahraini official yesterday.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani said a broader regional peace requires commitments from all parties to settle their disputes and let dialogue and diplomacy navigate the way forward.
“Bahrain firmly believes that conflicts are best resolved through understanding and dialogue by fostering an environment where communities unite to confront common challenges,” said Dr Al Zayani.
He was speaking during the second plenary session of the 21st International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Manama Dialogue 2025 held at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain.
The session was titled ‘Securing the Gulf: Diplomacy, Economics and Defence’.
“Security must be built on a vision aligned with the aspirations of our region’s people, a vision where diverse religions, cultures and beliefs coexist in peace, and where differences do not mean division,” he added.
“A secure and prosperous Gulf and Middle East will remain elusive unless the Palestinian people achieve their legitimate right to an independent and sovereign state living in peace and security along with Israel,” he said.
