Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani met Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr Varsen Aghabekian Shahin during her visit to Bahrain to participate in the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue 2025.
The meeting discussed the longstanding relations between Bahrain and Palestine and means to develop co-operation and co-ordination in various domains to serve the shared interests and goals of the two countries.
They also reviewed regional developments and their impact on security and stability in the area, emphasising the need to reduce tensions and escalation. They stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, facilitating humanitarian aid access for its residents, and the combined regional and international efforts to establish a just and comprehensive peace. They reiterated their support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state according to the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, and for efforts to restore recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.
