HORSERACING – PRIME Minister’s Court Minister and Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday chaired the REHC High Committee’s meeting.
Shaikh Isa highlighted the kingdom’s continued advancement in the field of equestrian sports, achieved through the support of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He emphasised the importance of implementing forward-looking development plans and programmes that enhance the quality and competitiveness of horseracing, further strengthening Bahrain’s position across various sporting sectors.
Shaikh Isa underscored the importance of collective efforts to advance the kingdom’s international standing in horseracing and its success in hosting prestigious equestrian events, as the country marks the inauguration of the 2025-26 horseracing season.
Shaikh Isa extended his best wishes for success to all participants and REHC personnel in achieving the kingdom’s development goals in the equestrian field.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the progress made in implementing the REHC’s master development plan, which includes the development of the main platform and the enhancement of infrastructure. These initiatives form part of REHC’s efforts to create a welcoming environment for participants and spectators alike, in line with the kingdom’s ongoing development of the horse racing sector and to build upon the successes achieved in hosting local and international championships.
Regarding REHC’s organisation of the seventh edition of the Bahrain International Trophy (Group Two) this coming Friday, the High Committee reviewed the ongoing preparations and organisational arrangements for this prestigious event. The review came as part of efforts to enhance organisational performance by harnessing all available capabilities and resources to ensure its success, build on the achievements of previous editions, and further reinforce Bahrain’s standing in the equestrian arena worldwide.
The REHC High Committee also reviewed mechanisms to enhance investment opportunities that support financial sustainability, strengthen the REHC’s capacity to implement plans and projects, and advance developments related to administrative and organisational matters.
