TENNIS – Bahrain’s women’s tennis national team are taking part in the Group II Asia/Oceania Zone B event of this year’s Billie Jean King Cup.
The competition is being held in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, and Bahrain are competing with the quartet of Hajar Zaidan, Salma Faragallah, Eman Alzaimoor, and Haneen Alnajjar. They are captained by Naila Almeer.
The Bahrainis are in Group A along with the Maldives and Vietnam. Group B features Laos, Jordan, Guam, and Brunei.
The nationals lost their opening head-to-head yesterday against the Maldives 0-3. Zaidan bowed to Aaraa Aasaal Azim 0-6, 0-6; and Faragallah lost to Naba Nishan 0-6, 0-6.
Alzaimoor and Alnajjar then bowed to Nayara Usama Ali and Aishath Karin Saizan 0-6, 0-6.
Bahrain are back in action today against the Vietnamese.
