A colourful ceremony that included artistic performances was held to mark the closing of Bahrain Theatre Festival.
The festival was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Organised by the Bahrain Theatres Union Associations, this year’s festival coincided with the centenary of Bahraini theatre.
Information Ministry Under-Secretary Yousif Al Binkhalil said the festival is an important platform in Bahrain’s cultural scene, reflecting appreciation for theatre pioneers and their creative contributions that embody Bahrain’s national and artistic identity.
Mr Al Binkhalil noted that the festival plays a key role in developing young creative talent and provides a platform to discover and nurture emerging artists, strengthening their presence in the cultural arena.
The ceremony included artistic performances and recognition segments, featuring a short play titled, Love is for the Birds.
Mr Al Binkhalil presented awards to jury members, critics, participants and winners of the festival’s competitions in recognition of their contributions.
