ENDURANCE HORSERACING – The Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) organised a series of qualifying races as part of the start of the 2025-26 endurance horseracing season.
There was wide participation from riders representing various stables in the events, held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village and featuring 100km international and local races, in addition to 80km and 40km races.
On this occasion, Breef president Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the importance of the qualifying races, which serve as a gateway for stables and riders to upcoming local competitions.
“We at the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation are keen to provide all that is necessary to develop endurance races, and we aspire for these efforts to be reflected in continuing to achieve positive results for the kingdom in upcoming competitions on the regional and international levels,” Shaikh Isa said.
For his part, Breef assistant secretary general Dr Khalid Ahmed Hassan, who is also the Royal Stables and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team general manager, explained that these races represent an important stage in the riders’ preparations for upcoming events, stressing the great role that endurance races play in enhancing Bahrain’s position on the international equestrian stage.
He pointed out that the wide participation confirms the success of endurance racing at the local level, especially with the great turnout of many young faces who are considered the core of Bahrain’s future.
