UK exam board Pearson Edexcel has confirmed the cancellation of school exams in Bahrain for the upcoming May/June 2026 series.
The decision affects all International GCSE, International A Level, and iPLS qualifications across the Kingdom, as well as in the UAE, Kuwait, and Lebanon. The announcement was made on Thursday by Emma Whale, Vice President of International Schools.
Pearson stated that it is currently finalising alternative arrangements for students in the affected countries. The board has pledged to provide schools with updates as soon as these measures are confirmed, alongside additional FAQs to guide educators, students, and parents through the transition.
