FOOTBALL – One of the most successful Bahraini coaches in the recent history of football in the kingdom has parted ways with his club.
“Al Khaldiya Sports Club announces the amicable termination of its contract with the first team football coach, Ali Ashoor, extending its sincere thanks and appreciation for his contributions and efforts over the past seasons, which culminated in winning five different championships,” said a statement issued yesterday by Khaldiya, translated from Arabic.
“With our best wishes for his success in his future coaching endeavours, Coach Ali will remain a part of the history and family of Al Khaldiya Club.”
Ashoor steered Khaldiya to the 2023-24 title in the Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League, along with triumphs in the HM the King’s Cup and the Khalid bin Hamad Cup in 2024-25.
He also guided them to back-to-back crowns in the Bahrain Super Cup in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Ashoor departs Khaldiya in the middle of the current season. They are currently in first place in the Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League standings and are in the running for the knockout stages in the AFC Champions League Two.
