THE latest Haval H6 has been launched and was unveiled in a glittering ceremony on Saturday, coinciding with parent company Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) 35th anniversary this year.
The Haval Spectrum was staged by Tasheelat Automotive Company (TAC), the sole dealer for GWM vehicles in the kingdom, at the iconic Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
The event was attended by TAC management, a team from the GWM headquarters in China, as well as other invitees.
The compact crossover SUV has two models – the flagship Supreme and the Max. Both are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and the former is also fitted with a panoramic sunroof.
Enthusiasts admired the vehicles’ clean-cut designs and minimalist, yet stylish interiors. The boot, like the cabin, is spacious, providing top-notch comfort. The 2026 H6 is fit for all terrains and temperatures, adding to its appeal.
“We’ve enjoyed the last decade of partnership with GWM and this is one of the best relationships that we’ve had,” TAC automotive division general manager Mohsin Hamza told the GDN.
“It’s built on trust and mutual goals to provide customers the best product at the best price and, overall, the best service.
“Tonight, the focus is on the H6, but if you look around, there is the entire (Haval) line-up. Every product that rolls off GWM is a testimony of quality, safety and technology,” he added.
Other Haval models on display during the event included the H7, H9 and Jolion.
Haval merchandise takeaways with laser-cut engravings, an instant digital photo stand, live music and a 360-camera set-up were added attractions at the event.
Earlier that day, invitees enjoyed a four-wheel drive experience at the BIC 4x4 track, where they set on an off-roading adventure in a range of GWM vehicles, including the H7, H9, Tank 300 and Tank 500. The 33 ‘tough’ obstacles gave drivers a first-hand experience of the cars’ safety features and capabilities.
“Despite being partners with GWM for such a long time, I was overwhelmingly surprised by the durability, sturdiness and strength of the cars. It is a testimony to the amount of effort that has gone into the research and development. Even though you are driving on some of the toughest terrains in the world, you are safe and cosy, in the comfort of your cabin, with the air conditioning on and the beautiful seat massages in some of the cars,” Mr Hamza noted.
The evening came to an end with members of the Bahrain Tank Club, a local fan group, being presented with a plaque, in keeping with TAC’s high standards for customer relations.
The Tank is a global luxury SUV brand first launched in 2021. Established in 1990, GWM is the first Chinese auto company to export cars overseas and today, has a global presence in over 60 countries with more than 15 million users.
It owns a portfolio of brands, including Haval, Wey, Tank, Ora, Poer, and Souo, spanning SUVs, pickups, new-energy vehicles, motorcycles, heavy-duty trucks and luxury off-road vehicles.
