BAHRAIN’S hosting of the Manama Final in the Fiba 3x3 World Tour 2025 this weekend reflects the strength of the ongoing partnership between the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
This was claimed by Tourism Minister and BTEA chairperson Fatima Al Sairafi.
Now in its third year, Al Sairafi said, the collaboration underscores growing confidence in Bahrain’s ability to deliver world-class sporting events.
The Tourism Minister noted that the tournament is one of the flagship occasions within BTEA’s push to expand sports tourism, generating strong public interest and wide media coverage while promoting Bahrain’s cultural and tourism offerings internationally. She added that the kingdom’s continued hosting of the event highlights Bahrain’s success in bringing together sport and tourism in a way that enhances both sectors.
The Tourism Minister also paid tribute to the support of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. She said that Shaikh Khalid’s backing has paved the way for Bahrain to host major international competitions that showcase the kingdom as an attractive destination for global sports fans.
She affirmed that the BTEA will continue to host major sporting events that reinforce Bahrain’s standing in the sports tourism arena and create new opportunities for the tourism and wider economic sectors. She noted that the Manama Final has now become a signature event on Fiba’s international calendar, with Bahrain firmly associated with its success.
