Bahrain is set to host the 13th Annual Conference for World SME Day, bringing together regional and international experts to discuss the future of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in a rapidly changing global economy.
The two-day conference, held under the patronage of Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, will take place next Wednesday and Thursday at the Arab Open University in Bahrain, under the theme: ‘Supporting SMEs in a Green Digital Economy.’
The event is organised by the Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Society in co-operation with the United International Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISMO), the Arab Open University in Bahrain, and Education Plus.
Dr Abdulhassan Al Dairi, chairman of both the Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Society and UNISMO, extended his gratitude to the minister and the government for their sustained support since the conference’s inception in 2010.
Dr Al Dairi emphasised the conference’s critical role in boosting the industrial and commercial sectors, particularly SMEs, which he described as the “backbone of the national economy.”
He highlighted the continuous and attentive support these enterprises receive from the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The conference is expected to feature key topics and include participation from a select group of local and international experts. Registration will soon be opened free-of-charge to entrepreneurs, SME owners, officials, researchers and university academics.
