Bahrain have wrapped up their historic campaign in the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia by winning the coveted gold medal this evening in the men’s handball tournament.
The Bahrainis were crowned champions after defeating the host Saudis 33-31 in a thrilling final.
Their handball gold headlined a four-medal haul for the kingdom's delegation today on the concluding day of the multi-sport event.
Two silver medals and one bronze medal were also won in men’s freestyle wrestling.
Their winnings raised Bahrain's final medal tally to 34, including a sensational 16 gold, 11 silver, and seven bronze medals.
