PARALYMPICS – BAHRAIN Paralympic Committee (BPC) president Shaikh Mohamed bin Duaij Al Khalifa has been elected as a member-at-large to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) governing board.
This came during the elections held at the 2025 IPC extraordinary general assembly, conducted virtually as a continuation of the IPC general assembly and conference in Seoul.
The elections witnessed 27 candidates from around the world, including 21 male and six female candidates, vying for positions on the board, which is composed of 12 members, namely the president, two vice-presidents, seven elected members-at-large, and two appointed members.
Shaikh Mohamed’s win is a culmination of his leadership journey in serving Paralympic sports at both the national and international levels. It recognises his influential contributions to advancing the Paralympic movement, whether through developmental initiatives he has spearheaded or his support for the sports infrastructure for Para athletes.
