GOLF – Balbir Singh and Nathan Sundaresan claimed victory in the Banz Fourball competition at Awali Golf Club (AGC).
Singh and Sundaresan claimed first place in the betterball Stableford competition with a commanding 45 points.
They finished ahead of runners-up Bader Al Dosari and Mohamed Ali Al Kowari, while in third were Benedikt Schwerm and Gerard van Gerwen and fourth were Abddulrahim Fakhroo and Fares Khalifa Al Merisi – all on 43 points.
Nathan Prince and Sanjeev Bhalla came fifth and Peter Burns and Melanie Swain finished sixth, both on 42 points, while competing the top eight were the pairings of Abdul Elah Fakhroo and Nasser Yaqoob Saleh and Abdulla Mubarak Al Jowher and Salim Khalifa Masood with 40 points apiece.
Following play, the prizes were handed out in the presence of Sundaresan, who is also the tournament director, and Awali Golf Club captain Steve Newall.
