Popular streamer IShowSpeed is facing a lawsuit after allegedly assaulting a robot during a live stream, causing significant damage and costing it future opportunities.
Speed is being sued by Social Robotics, the company behind the robot dubbed "Jake the Rizzbot" for a whopping $1 million (BD 377,000).
According to the complaint, the incident occurred when the robot insulted Speed and made an obscene gesture, prompting the streamer to repeatedly punch it on camera.
Social Robotics claims the attack went far beyond entertainment, arguing that Speed damaged the robot without the owner’s “implied consent” and deprived it of a planned appearance alongside YouTube star Mr Beast.
The lawsuit remains in the very early stages of litigation.
