A 17-year-old student in Banha, Egypt, has been detained for allegedly killing his classmate out of jealousy over the victim's superior school grades.
The suspect, identified as Mahmood, reportedly lured his friend, Mohammed Yasser, to a construction site late at night before allegedly stabbing him to death.
When Yasser failed to return home, his family grew concerned and filed a missing person's report with the local police. In a surprising turn of events, Mahmood later arrived at the police station and confessed to the crime.
The suspect subsequently led investigators to the construction site where Yasser’s body was recovered.
