The Kuwait Interior Ministry’s Cybercrime Department has arrested a Kuwaiti citizen and two Arab nationals for operating an organised scheme to school students cheat on examinations.
The operation was uncovered after several students were caught using miniature earpieces during their exams. Upon questioning, the students confessed to communicating with two specific social media accounts that provided answers to test questions.
Investigations revealed that the accounts were used to sell exam materials and actively lure students through targeted advertisements. The Criminal Investigation Department tracked the digital footprint of the accounts, leading to the identification and detention of the suspects.
Furthermore, investigators have identified several phone numbers linked to students and their parents. Authorities are currently summoning these individuals to determine the extent of their involvement and whether they purchased leaked materials.
The ministry emphasised that strict legal measures are being taken to protect the integrity of the educational system.
