His Majesty King Hamad has ordered that 2026 be designated the ‘Year of Isa Al Kabeer’.
This is to celebrate the founder of the modern state and the leader of the institutional renaissance in the history of Bahrain, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies.
The designation was announced yesterday when His Majesty received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Sakhir Palace.
It commemorates the legacy of the great leader and recalls his significant national role, including the consolidation of stability, the establishment of legal and civil institutions and the nation’s prosperity across various domains.
The King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister reviewed topics related to advancing the kingdom’s development process and its continued progress across various sectors.
His Majesty took pride in the prominent role of HRH Prince Salman in leading government work towards further advancement and excellence.
He commended the sustained efforts undertaken by HRH Prince Salman and the distinguished achievements in support of growth and prosperity for the nation.
The King also noted the development projects underway in Muharraq and other cities of the kingdom, as well as the national efforts aimed at preserving the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain and its people.
On the occasion of Bahraini Diplomatic Day, His Majesty congratulated all members of the diplomatic corps, praising their important national role in building bridges of co-operation and strengthening the kingdom’s relations with countries.
He also commended their efforts in safeguarding national and citizens’ interests and supporting the kingdom’s achievements.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for the notable successes and accomplishments of Bahraini diplomacy.
He noted that these achievements are grounded in the authentic principles and enduring values that have shaped Bahrain’s civilisational identity as a nation that embraces tolerance, coexistence and respect for others.
These values also call for the consolidation of peace, rapprochement and harmony among peoples worldwide.
His Majesty was briefed on latest developments related to regional events and their implications for regional security and stability.
Bahrain’s firm position of calling for the resolution of crises through dialogue and diplomatic means was discussed.
