The Embassy of India in Tehran has issued an urgent travel advisory, calling on all Indian nationals currently in Iran, including students, pilgrims, business travellers, and tourists, to leave the country by available transport.
The advisory cites an "evolving situation" in the region as the reason for the recommendation. It follows an earlier advisory issued by the Government of India on January 5, 2025.
All citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) are urged to avoid areas where protests or demonstrations are occurring. Furthermore, nationals should keep all travel and immigration documents, including passports and IDs, readily available.
