Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh and Morocco’s House of Councillors Speaker Mohamed Ould Errachid signed a joint statement during the Moroccan parliamentary delegation’s official visit to Bahrain.
The two sides underscored the strength of Bahrain-Morocco relations and agreed to enhance parliamentary co-operation and co-ordination in regional and international forums, and joint Arab action in support of security and stability.
Mr Al Saleh reiterated Bahrain’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara and the autonomy initiative, welcoming UN Security Council Resolution 2797.
The Moroccan side welcomed Bahrain’s forthcoming presidency of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and expressed interest in strengthening Africa-Asia parliamentary co-operation.
