JIU-JITSU – BAHRAIN’S Ali Monfaredi representing Elements Jiu-Jitsu Academy Bahrain captured the gold medal yesterday in the men’s master one black belt 82.3kg weight class at the European IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2026, currently being held in Lisboa, Portugal.
Monfaredi secured his title after defeating Swedish opponent Lars Erik Friberg representing CheckMat in the final.
The bronze medals were shared by Henrique Tome de Jesus from Boavista FC Jiu-Jitsu and Ait-Enceur Hakim from Cercle Tissier.
Monfaredi beat de Jesus in the semi-finals to book his spot in the gold medal match.
He had also earlier claimed wins over Breno Rodrigues from OLS Jiu-Jitsu, Santiago Nicolas Rios from Octo Team Malaga, and Marek Tadeusz Susniak, who was also representing CheckMat.
