A gang from Eastern Europe is currently standing trial in Dubai after allegedly robbing an office of AED 3 million (BD300,000).
Five members of the group approached a trading company’s office when only one employee was present. They reportedly lured the sole staff member to the door before confronting him, forcing their way to the safe, and making away with millions in cash.
Following the report, the Public Prosecution conducted a thorough investigation that led to the arrest of three suspects and the tracing of a portion of the stolen funds.
While three members of the gang are in custody, the remaining two managed to flee the country. To date, only AED 300,000 (BD30,000) has been recovered.
