Bahrain has officially joined the Board of Peace initiative backed by US President Donald Trump aimed at resolving global conflicts, including the Gaza war.
On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad, Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday participated in the signing ceremony of the Board of Peace Charter, held at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Charter was also signed by President Trump and Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Co-operation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, formally ratifying the Board of Peace as an international organisation. Following the signing, representatives of several other countries, including Turkiye, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, proceeded to sign the document.
Shaikh Isa affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain continues to support international initiatives that promote peace, strengthen sustainable development, and help build a prosperous future for all.
He highlighted Bahrain’s appreciation for President Trump’s efforts to maintain peace regionally and globally, noting the kingdom’s hopes for the Board of Peace to foster co-operation, support stability and advance development.
Shaikh Isa further noted Bahrain’s commitment to advancing the full implementation of the peace plan proposed by President Trump regarding the Gaza Strip, which comprises 20 points and underscores the importance of safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He commended the role played by the United States, alongside its allies, in strengthening security, stability, and peace in the region and the world, thereby supporting development across various sectors.
The Prime Minister’s Court Minister also affirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen the historic bilateral and strategic relationship between Bahrain and the US, noting that the continued growth of this partnership would benefit both nations and their people.
