CRICKET – ABRAJ Strikers and Abraj Spartans both emerged victorious in their Abraj Ramadan Cup 2026 matches.
Facing Abraj Titans, Strikers won the toss and chose to field first – a decision that proved effective on a challenging pitch. Titans struggled to build partnerships and were bowled out for 86 runs in 15.3 overs. Mishal Soni was the top scorer with a brisk 16 off 13 balls, while Stany Fernandes and Abhishek Verma contributed modestly before retiring. The Titans’ innings were disrupted by frequent wickets and retirements, preventing any sustained momentum.
The Strikers’ bowling was disciplined, led by Jignesh Dhanesha, who delivered an outstanding spell of three wickets for eight runs, supported well by Sapan Jain’s two off 13 while Collin, Arun, Gaurav, Ajay, Hozefa and Sandeep each took one wicket.
In reply, Strikers chased down the target although with some difficulty, finishing on 87 for seven in 16.3 overs. Several batters retired hurt, but Jain and Arun held their nerves to remain not out on 12 and 14, guiding the team home.
Resistance from Titans’ bowlers saw Prem D impress with three wickets, while Amit, Dinesh, Vivek and Stany each took one wicket.
Dhanesha’s all-round brilliance earned him the distinction of Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match.
Meanwhile, Spartans won over Team Cheetah, who elected to bat first.
They posted a competitive total of 140 for eight in 22 overs. Srinivas B anchored their innings with a steady 38 runs off 42 balls, remaining not out. Useful contributions came from Haresh (18 off 10), while several batters retired hurt, affecting momentum.
Spartans’ bowling was led by Paddy, who claimed three wickets for 16 runs – well supported by Varun and Robin, who each took one wicket.
In reply, Spartans chased down the target dramatically, finishing on 141 all out in 21.5 overs, winning the match with no wickets remaining. Tarun Parihar played a decisive captain’s knock, scoring 35 runs off 30 balls, while Bharath Jain held one end with 13 not out and user contribution from Sagar 17 off 11 and Sushant 12 off 15.
For Team Cheetah, Anuj Somani impressed with two wickets, and Srinivas bowled economically while Mukesh, Sagar K, Vignesh, and Haresh each took one wickets.
Paddy’s all-round brilliance earned him the MVP of the match award.
