HANDBALL – BARBAR claimed a resounding 36-27 victory over Al Ettihad last night in their gameweek 16 clash of the 2025-26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
Barbar held a slim 14-12 advantage at the half but came alive after the break, extending their advantage en route to securing the comfortable win.
With the result, Barbar improved to 33 points with their ninth win in 15 games. They remained in fourth place on the standings while dealing Ettihad their ninth defeat in 14 tries. Ettihad went to 24 points in the bottom half of the table.
Meanwhile, defending champions Al Najma continued their remarkable unbeaten run this season with a 31-28 triumph over bottom side Bahrain Club.
Najma were only a single goal up, 17-16, at the break but did well to pull away for the win in the second half.
Najma stretched their impressive winning streak to 15 games as they continued to top the standings with a maximum 45 points. They handed Bahrain Club their league-worst 14th defeat as they went to 17 markers in last place.
