JIU-JITSU – BAHRAIN’S multi-titled jiu-jitsu star Pedro Bisi de Jesus headlined the list of winners in the Reza’s Martial Arts Centre (RMAC) Ramadan Jiu-Jitsu Championship-Gi and No Gi.
De Jesus took the next step in his impressive young career, winning his first gold medals in the adult men’s purple belt weight class in the highly competitive event, which featured top jiu-jitsu practitioners from RMAC and various other academies in the kingdom.
De Jesus secured double gold after taking both the adult men’s gi purple belt over-85kg category and the adult men’s no gi purple belt over-85kg division.
In the former, he won both his matches against fellow-RMAC athlete Samuel Ambrosio. De Jesus took the opener by points before claiming the second by submission.
In his other competition class, de Jesus first defeated KHK MMA’s Ahmed Ibrahim Amir by submission to earn his place in the final, where he once again faced off with Ambrosio. He then claimed their contest with another impressive submission, securing his two titles.
De Jesus’s latest achievements continued his fine form from 2025, when he bagged a number of top accolades from major competitions held around the world – mostly in youth categories. Last November, he won a bronze medal at the Abu Dhabi World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025 in the UAE, and also struck gold in the 2025 Ju-Jitsu World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
De Jesus had also claimed bronze at the third Asian Youth Games hosted by the kingdom in October, while in January of last year, he became the first-ever fighter from Bahrain to win gold at the European IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal.
A total of 15 gold medals were handed out in the RMAC Ramadan Jiu-Jitsu Championship-Gi and No Gi.
In the other adults men’s gi categories, Hussain Alshuwaikj of Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team captured gold in the white belt under-69kg division, Hassan Al Ansari of Bahrain Fighters triumphed in the white belt under-85kg class, Rashed Mubarak of Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team won the white belt over-85kg, and Abdulla Qahtan of Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team took first in the blue belt under-69kg; while in the adult men’s no gi classes, Mahmood Alsammak of E7 Grappling Club won the white belt under-69kg division, Al Ansari took first in the white belt under-85kg, Qahtan triumphed in the blue belt under-69kg.
In the youth men’s 15 to 17 years gi categories, Abdulla Ali Alshaik from Elements JJ Bahrain took gold in the white belt under-62kg class, Sami Awadh from Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team took first place in the white belt under-69kg division, Hamad Mohamed of Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team was victorious amongst the white belt over-69kg competitors, and Mohammed Alshowaikh of Reza Monfaradi BJJ Team triumphed in the coloured belts under-62kg class.
In the youth men’s 15 to 17 years no gi divisions, Salman Alsherawy from E7 Grappling Club won gold in the white belt under-62kg class, and Ameer Yuksel from E7 Grappling Club triumphed in the white belt over-69kg category.
Following all the action, the winners were presented with their respective medals in podium ceremonies by RMAC officials.
