BADMINTON – NADEEM Nahaz and Mathew K Cherian were crowned premier doubles champions in The Indian Club Members Badminton Tournament.
The event was played at the club’s premises in Manama and it featured five doubles categories.
Nahaz and Cherian claimed the premier class while the pair of Jisham Mohammed and Ramesh Ram finished as runners-up.
In the level one division, Lizbeth Binu and Ameer Mohammed were the winners while Mohan Gowda and Raison Varghese finished second.
Manoj R Jayan and Shervin Sunil were victors in level two, where Jomy Joseph and Aakash Sakthivel were runners-up.
Level three was claimed by Sandy Mathew and Jubin Varghese, with Ramesh Eliave and Amit Kumar taking second place.
Satheesh Nataraj and Bright Antony were level four champions to round up the tournament’s list of winners. George K George and Karthikeyan Shanmugham were the runners-up.
Following play, trophies were awarded to the top tandems during a presentation ceremony. The Indian Club’s general secretary Anil Kumar delivered a welcome address, while The Indian Club president Joseph Joy presided over the gathering.
Various executive members distributed the accolades to the winners. The Indian Club’s badminton secretary Binu Pappachen also expressed a message of thanks.
