A 53-year-old man has been arrested by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate for alleged fraudulent activities surrounding the selling of smartphones on dodgy instalment plans.
According to the Interior Ministry, the accused salesman, whose nationality was not revealed, made customers sign contracts and allegedly falsified the agreements at a later stage, inserting inflated sums exceeding the actual value of the mobile devices.
The authorities launched an investigation after receiving numerous complaints. Necessary legal measures have been taken and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
