HANDBALL – AL Ettihad and Tubli both claimed victories last night in matchweek 17 of the 2025-26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
Ettihad outclassed Samaheej 34-25 while Tubli edged past Bahrain Club 26-24.
Both games were played at the Bahrain Handball Federation Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex.
Ettihad held a 16-12 advantage at the half in their contest against Samaheej as they went on to claim their sixth win in 15 games and improve to 27 points on the table. Samaheej suffered their 13th loss and stayed second-from-bottom with 19 points.
Tubli, meanwhile, had a commanding 18-10 cushion at the break against Bahrain Club, but then had to stave off a second-half surge from their opponents en route to also claiming win number six for the season, helping them rise to 28 points.
Bahrain Club suffered their league-worst 15th defeat in 16 outings as they remained in last place with 18 markers.
Matchweek 17 rounds up this evening with a mouth-watering clash between undefeated leaders and defending champions Al Najma and Al Shabab, one of their main title rivals. The game is scheduled for a 7pm start and it will be played at the same venue.
