His Majesty King Hamad, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received Cyprus Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Constantinos Kombos, who is on a visit to Bahrain.
The Cypriot minister conveyed the greetings of Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the people of Bahrain. His Majesty relayed his greetings and best wishes to the Cypriot President and the people of Cyprus.
His Majesty welcomed the minister’s visit and underscored the importance of such visits in advancing co-operation and strengthening partnerships in line with existing agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
His Majesty and the minister reviewed means to further develop relations and advance co-operation across different domains.
The meeting also addressed regional developments, during which His Majesty expressed appreciation for the positions of Cyprus and the solidarity expressed by its President towards the kingdom regarding the Iranian attacks.
On his part, the Cypriot minister expressed appreciation for the King’s role in advancing relations and strengthening ties between the two countries.
He reiterated Cyprus’s solidarity with Bahrain, its condemnation of the Iranian attacks, and its support for measures taken to safeguard Bahrain’s sovereignty, security and stability.
He also commended Bahrain’s diplomatic efforts at the United Nations Security Council, including the adoption of Resolution 2817 with support from 136 countries.
