MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-British GT team 2 Seas Motorsport, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, unveiled yesterday the new livery for one of their cars competing in the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe.
2 Seas are set to race with a two-contender entry in the highly competitive series – with one of their challengers running in co-operation with Team Verstappen Racing, owned by four-time Formula One drivers’ world champion Max Verstappen.
Together, they secured last season’s Gold Cup title, and will be returning this campaign to defend their crown.
2 Seas are competing in the championship’s full calendar, featuring both sprint and endurance events.
With Team Verstappen Racing, they will be hitting the track in their #3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 car, to be driven by Briton Chris Lulham and Spaniard Daniel Juncadella in sprint races, and with Frenchman Jules Gounon joining them for endurance weekends.
Lulham secured the 2025 Gold Cup for 2 Seas and Team Verstappen Racing with then-teammates Harry King and Thierry Vermeulen.
Meanwhile, 2 Seas are also contesting the GT World Challenge Europe’s Bronze Cup, where their #222 Mercedes-AMG GT3 is to be shared by Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss. The pair are the reigning British GT drivers’ champions, but are taking on a different challenge this season. Teaming up with them for endurance events is Reece Barr – making for an all-British triumvirate.
2 Seas showcased yesterday a stunning design for their #222 contender – boasting a new look with their signature palm trees.
“Turning over a new leaf and coming in hot,” 2 Seas said on a post in social media alongside images of the car.
The reveal came ahead of the series’ official test days and prologue, taking place April 8 and 9 at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
“This combined two-car programme is exactly where I have always hoped 2 Seas Motorsport would be – running across different classes, with two line-ups proven and capable of winning at the highest level,” Shaikh Isa said recently about the team’s GT World Challenge Europe line-up.
The series’ calendar features 10 rounds – five each for sprint and endurance. Following the upcoming prologue, the season-opening event will take place April 11 and 12, also at Paul Ricard, as an endurance meeting.
Other endurance events this campaign will be held at Monza in Italy in May; at Spa in Belgium in June, which will be a 24-hour event; at the Nurburgring in Germany in August; and at Algarve in Portugal in October.
Sprint weekends will be held at Brands Hatch in the UK in May; at Misano Adriatico in Italy in July; at Magny-Cours in France in July and August; at Zandvoort in the Netherlands in September; and at Barcelona in Spain in October.
Aside from their double GT World Challenge Europe bid, 2 Seas are also set to compete with a two-car entry in the 2026 British GT Championship.
2 Seas are the reigning GT3 teams’ champions. The pairing of Kevin Tse from Hong Kong and Ben Green from Britain will be sharing the driving duties in their #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 contender, while the British tandem of Aaron Walker and Kenzie Beecroft will be behind the wheel of their #15 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
2 Seas are scheduled to take part in the British GT media day today at Silverstone Circuit, where the season’s first round is set to take place on April 25 and 26.
