Hong Kong is set for an action-packed season of world-class events this April, under the Hong Kong Mega 8 campaign.
Visitors can experience a dynamic mix of sports, arts, and cultural events, highlighting Hong Kong as the Events Capital of Asia. The campaign features eight major happenings, combining global appeal with local energy.
Four standout international sporting events headline the season: Hong Kong Sevens, Hong Kong Derby, Champions Day, and the 2026 UCI Track World Cup, Hong Kong, China.
These events bring elite athletes, enthusiastic fans, and unforgettable entertainment, capturing Hong Kong’s fast-paced, international spirit.
The Hong Kong Sevens 2026 (17–19 April) celebrates its 50th anniversary at the state-of-the-art Kai Tak Stadium.
The tournament features 72 thrilling rugby games between 30 top teams, including Hong Kong’s Men and Women’s 7s defending their Melrose Claymores titles.
Fans will enjoy a festival-like atmosphere with live entertainment, interactive experiences in the 10,700-square-metre Fan Village, and appearances by rugby legends Waisale Serevi, DJ Forbes, and Tyla King. Celebratory highlights include the tournament’s first-ever K-pop party, performances by girl group Primrose and singer-songwriter Gwyn Dorado, DJ Hanna’s high-energy sets, and a performance by Europe’s party act The Vengaboys.
The festival vibe continues throughout the weekend with over 20 DJs, bands, and dance troupes performing in the Fan Village.
Cycling enthusiasts can witness elite competition at the 2026 UCI Track World Cup (17–19 April) at the Hong Kong Velodrome, the second round of the prestigious international track cycling series.
Nearly 400 professional cyclists from 40 countries will compete in Olympic track disciplines, earning valuable World Ranking points.
The event promises a showcase of speed, strategy, and endurance, placing Hong Kong at the centre of the global cycling calendar.
Champions Day (26 April) at Sha Tin Racecourse offers another highlight, featuring three elite Group 1 horse races with world-class thoroughbreds and jockeys.
Hong Kong favourites, including Romantic Warrior, Voyage Bubble, and Ka Ying Rising, will face international challengers, creating a high-stakes, electrifying race-day atmosphere for fans and visitors.
