British Airways cancelled flights from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to the UK as a result of the regional tensions and may be back flying in June.
“This is fantastic news,” said one thrilled Bahrain-based British expatriate. “My British Airways flights from the region have been cancelled twice and I am now due to travel via Riyadh, through Muscat and on to Heathrow to meet my new granddaughter, Penny, for the first time later this month.
“It will be a welcome relief to hopefully fly back to Muharraq on my return trip.”
