Gulf economic integration – particularly in logistics – is advancing at pace, significantly improving the flow of goods among GCC states, especially during periods of regional and global strain, experts have said.
They stressed that enhanced connectivity, upgraded infrastructure and streamlined customs procedures have been pivotal in stabilising supply chains and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential commodities.
Speaking to our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej, they noted that Bahrain continues to strengthen its standing as a key logistics hub, underpinned by its strategic location and advanced infrastructure across ports, transport networks and supply systems.
They added that operational flexibility and diversified logistics options are critical to reinforcing food and trade security, particularly amid ongoing challenges.
The experts highlighted that close co-ordination between government entities and the private sector has boosted supply chain readiness through proactive planning.
Measures include diversifying import sources and shipping routes, as well as building up strategic reserves – steps that have helped maintain market stability and meet demand without shortages of essential goods.
