The Education Ministry places high priority on the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies through clear policies and regulations governing their use in schools, it has been revealed.
“The ‘Safe Use of Technology’ project has been launched to raise student awareness of digital risks and promote positive values and digital citizenship,” Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma said.
“Tools such as GPTZero and plagiarism detectors are used to verify the originality of student research and projects.
“The ministry is also working with the Interior Ministry, the National Cyber Security Centre, and the Information and eGovernment Authority to organise workshops on safe Internet use, while participating in international initiatives including Unesco programmes on AI ethics in education.
“It has also contributed to the national ‘Himaya’ campaign to protect children from online exploitation.”
