BASKETBALL – MANAMA will be looking to stay in the fight tonight as they have their backs against the wall with a 0-2 deficit in their best-of-five championship series against Muharraq in the 2025-26 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
Manama – the kingdom’s most successful basketball club with 25 league titles in history – will have their work cut out for them against the defending champions, who have dominated their match-up so far this season.
In their seven meetings to date in the current campaign, Muharraq have won all the games – played across three tournaments – and are now just a win away from an historic title treble. They had already won the prestigious Khalifa Bin Salman Cup last month and the curtain-raising Bahrain Super Cup in November of last year – with both single-game contests also coming against Manama.
Tonight’s game three of the finals is scheduled for a 7pm tip-off at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, with fans set to be in attendance.
Manama will be aiming to extend the series to fourth and fifth games. Game four, if needed, will take place on Friday, and game five, also if required, is slated for April 20.
Muharraq are looking to successfully defend their league crown, which they are hoping to claim for a fifth time.
