HIS Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has directed that legal and constitutional measures be taken to refer a draft law ensuring that Bahraini salaries in the private sector are paid for the month of April.
These payments will be drawn from the Unemployment Insurance Fund as part of a broader strategy to preserve employment levels, support private businesses, and guarantee continued economic growth.
The directive was issued at the Cabinet meeting chaired by HRH Prince Salman yesterday.
The Cabinet also commended the Central Bank of Bahrain’s (CBB) announcement, in line with the directives of His Royal Highness, of a loan repayment postponement, as well as a liquidity provision and support programme, which includes a range of measures to bolster the Kingdom’s fiscal position.
The Cabinet commended the signing of the currency swap agreement between the CBB and the UAE Central Bank, covering the Bahraini dinar and the UAE dirham.
