BASKETBALL – BAHRAIN will host an event on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour 2026 this November, it was confirmed yesterday.
The Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) announced that it has signed an agreement with the International Basketball Federation (Fiba) to bring the world’s biggest street basketball series back to the kingdom for a fourth straight year.
The competition is scheduled to take place on November 20 and 21.
The BBA did not reveal the level of the event, but Bahrain had hosted Masters tournaments twice in the past in 2023 and 2024, before staging the Fiba 3x3 World Tour Final last year.
The BBA said that hosting the spectacle is part of a strategic partnership with the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Tourism, within an integrated national vision aimed at attracting international sporting events that contribute to enhancing Bahrain’s economy and tourism, and further strengthening the kingdom’s standing as a favourite sporting destination.
According to the BBA, last year’s edition, which was held as the season-ending round at a specially built venue at Bahrain Financial Harbour in the heart of Manama, attracted 7,500 visitors. It was broadcast to 234 countries worldwide, and brought about more than three million minutes of television viewing, in addition to 1.3 million minutes of YouTube coverage.
The total economic and media value generated for Bahrain amounted to $8.6m, the BBA added.
This year’s Fiba 3x3 World Tour is scheduled to tip off on April 25 and 26 with the season-opening Masters event in Utsunomiya, Japan. After making stops all over the world, including for Challenger competitions, Bahrain’s spectacle is one of the last rounds leading up to the 2026 finale in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on December 12 and 13.
