A top Health Ministry official has affirmed its commitment to enhance the readiness of the Bahrain Haj Mission medical committee this season.
This effort aims to ensure the delivery of integrated, high-quality healthcare services to Bahraini pilgrims, enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind, said Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Lulwa Showaiter.
The initiative comes under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, and in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She made the remarks during the ministry’s workshop for medical and administrative staff participating in the Haj campaigns. It was attended by Bahrain’s Haj Mission head Shaikh Adnan Al Qattan and officials from the health sector, the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry, and the mission.
It aimed to strengthen co-ordination among relevant entities, enhance institutional integration, and improve the efficiency of participating personnel – ultimately supporting the overall health preparedness of Bahraini pilgrims.
Dr Showaiter highlighted the continuous support extended to the health sector, which has contributed to improving the efficiency of the healthcare system and reinforcing Bahrain’s position in delivering distinguished services to pilgrims.
She also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Bahraini Haj Mission, as well as those of Saudi Arabia in serving pilgrims and providing advanced organisational and healthcare facilities.
Shaikh Al Qattan reaffirmed the mission’s commitment to intensifying efforts and mobilising all available resources to meet pilgrims’ needs, in line with the directives of His Majesty and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also underscored the vital role of the Health Ministry, represented by the mission’s medical committee, highlighting the comprehensive services it provides. “These include diagnosis and treatment, provision of medications, implementation of vaccination and awareness programmes, and continuous monitoring of pilgrims’ health before, during, and after the Haj rituals,” he said.
He added that the workshop contributes to enhancing staff efficiency and strengthening co-ordination in managing the medical centre at the mission’s headquarters, which operates around the clock. It also supports the staffing and equipping of clinics at the holy sites with qualified personnel and the necessary medical supplies.
