Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), has foiled an attempt to smuggle 2,733,648 amphetamine pills concealed within a shipment of printing paper at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The intended recipients were arrested in Riyadh, Al-Jouf and Eastern regions; they included two displaced persons and three Saudi nationals.
Security authorities urged the public to report any activities related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and Eastern regions, and 999 in other regions, or via the GDNC hotline (995) and email (995@gdnc.gov.sa). They emphasised that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
